Watterson is Hiring a General Manager Near Irvine, CA

Since our founding in 2001, Watterson has provided exceptional professionally managed support to our clients nationwide who include many of the largest retailers, real estate holding companies, insurance providers, and commercial lenders in the country. At Watterson, we pride ourselves as being our clients professional management provider and an extension of our clients’ team. Watterson offers our clients a full suite of environmental and facilities management services including disaster/emergency response, environmental services, and facilities/construction management.
As part of Watterson’s service to our national clients, Watterson is seeking an experienced general manager to lead a team of restoration and reconstruction professionals after traumatic events, such as a fire or flood, to clean up and repair damage to residential and commercial property. As a GM, you will oversee company policies and direct activities toward long-range goals for growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage environmental, restoration, and emergency services staff.
  • Develop, implement, and direct budgets, goals, and business plans.
  • Recruit train and develop staff.
  • Communicate and enforce corporate objectives, key messages, policies, and procedures.
  • Locally build and develop relationships with current clients and potential future clients.
  • Partner with the Corporate Growth and Marketing team to gain new business and provide services for the organization’s customers.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety.
  • Mange the budget and provide reports and updates on the operations.
  • Control the cash flow for the division which includes timely collections, progress payments, A/R policies, job costs and payment terms for subcontractors and vendors.
  • Locate and utilize subcontractors - review subcontractors’ work, quality levels, pricing, and inspect worksite periodically to ensure it meets company standards.
  • Periodic travel up to 10%
Skills/Traits/Competencies
  • Strong written/verbal communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively across all levels within the organization.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of budgets, cash flow, collections, and business plans.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage expectations.
  • Highly organized, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with laws, rules and regulations that govern the area of the job, the restoration and/or construction industry including but not limited to your scope of work.
Experience/Education/Qualifications
  • 5 years of emergency, restoration, or reconstruction experience, including 5 years of team management.
  • Physically able to perform job related tasks (climbing a ladder, ability to lift 40lbs.)
  • Experience with Xactimate and T&M Pro for invoices and billing highly preferred
